Red Tailed Hawks - March Update

Hello RTH Families!

It's been a busy month and a whirlwind of a week! Today we wrapped up filming our classroom movie, My Monster and Me. A huge thank you to all of our awesome families who welcomed us into their homes for filming. The Beare Family, The Netherby Family, The O'Brien family, and Kellogg family were gracious hosts, and the students LOVED being able to film "on location". Our "World Premier" will be this upcoming Thursday, March 6th at 6:00pm in the gym. Actors are welcome to wear their costumes to the viewing. Afterwards we will have a quick treat to celebrate our cast.

In recent weeks, we have been focusing more on botany. We are starting to see some seedlings sprouting, which has ignited interest in our Needs of the Plant and Seed Dispersal lessons. The students had a wonderful time seeing seed dispersal first hand, when we released cattail seeds in the outdoor environment. We enjoyed experimenting with the heating of land and water, and learned which one heats (and cools) faster. (Ask your child if they remember the results). We've also enjoyed incorporating symmetry into several art projects as well.

With spring break around the corner, we have many things to plan for in class. Keystone Spirit Week is the week of March 24th. Be ready to show your love for Keystone by wearing your Keystone Swag, participating in our fun "theme" days, and joining us for our Keystone Appreciation Movie Night on Saturday, March 29th.

The first week of April is state testing for our 3rd grade students. The best preparation for this (any) test, is a well-rested, well-fed student. Please have your student here on time in the morning, to help avoid disruptions to the testing environment.

Have a great spring break!

In peace and appreciation,

Mrs. Amie and Ms. Beth
