Dear Iguanas Families,
Welcome to Septmeber! We have successfully finished our first month of school. What a wonderful start to the school year for the teachers and children. Everyone has adjusted very well to the classroom. We have observed the Iguana students wanting to learn, explore, communicate, and be a helpful and caring part of our little community. We have been happily welcoming the new students into our environment and the older students have been great helpers and leaders. We were able to take our first library trip with the new students. They learned how to check out books, library etiquette, and where the children's books are in the library. Everyone was happy to start our specials; Art, Music, Spanish, Yoga, and P.E.
THANK YOU to everyone who helped provide our classroom with a new water dispenser that helps cool our water. We are patiently waiting for Mr. Mike to get everything set up for us next week. We appreciate your thoughtfulness and generosity.
We celebrated Maria Montessori's birthday on August 30th. We read a book about her life and celebrated all her accomplishments and all she has done for our Montessori education. We talked about our favorite materials in the classroom and the children wrote her some beautiful birthday cards and created some art of their favorite material.
