Dear Parents,
The children have become familiarized with the procedure of "formal lunch." Formal lunch is a Montessori practice where the children set the table with placemats, plates, a glass, and utensils. It is a lovely opportunity for the children to practice Grace and Courtesy lessons and gain a sense of pride over their growing independence. Over the years, I have observed that it is difficult for the children to transfer food from a bento box to their plates successfully. As such, you may consider packing their lunch in separate, smaller containers so the children can independently transfer their food. Of course, the teachers are more than happy to help the children as needed!
Our annual parent-teacher conferences are coming to a close! It was wonderful to meet with you, and I hope you enjoyed hearing about your child's progress in the classroom. I am very proud that the children have gained tremendous independence and have developed the responsibility to take care of themselves and their environment. I genuinely believe that these developments set a firm foundation for their future!
With the colder weather and frequent handwashing, I have observed that the children's hands are becoming dry. Please be informed that if you want the teachers to apply sunscreen, lotion, or lip balm to your child at school, you must complete a Medical Consent Form. You may download and print the form at https://www.keystonemontessori.com/keystone-families/parent-forms-resources-links or ask the front office for a hard copy. This is a state requirement. Thank you for your understanding!
Sincerely,
Ms. Yoo-Kyung
