Prickly Pears - October Update

What an amazing week in the Prickly Pears classroom environment! Finally, the weather allowed us to start setting up the outdoor environment. Fall is here! The children will enjoy painting, drawing, scrubbing the bricks, sweeping, planting flower plants, and watering plants and seeds. Now, recess at the playground is a reality. Even though the weather is still a little bit warm, the children have had the opportunity to play and exercise their bodies in the playground. Therefore, we are kindly asking our Prickly Pears parents to apply sunscreen on their children to protect them from the sun. Thank you for your support! The Prickly Pears classroom art project is almost done. It will be beautiful! The children have been participating enthusiastically applying different skills gained in the Primary Montessori classroom enhancing their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Thanks to our Prickly Pears families for getting involved! We cannot wait to see the final product! This week, we had the opportunity to talk about the seasons of the year: summer, fall, winter and spring. The children highlighted the differences among them and described them in a sensorial way. The children pointed out the ways each season looks, smells, tastes, feels, and sounds. We read the book, Red Leaf Yellow Leaf written by Lois Ehlert and one of our families donated the first pumpkin of the season. As always thank you so much for your kindness and support! Have an amazing weekend!
