AZ Eagles - March Update

Greetings, AZ Eagles families! This week was packed with engaging science experiences. The 7th graders are doing a group lab project where they split into two groups and conduct separate experiments. One group is studying the effects of caffeine on a person’s heart rate, and the other is analyzing how the amount of hydrogen peroxide in elephant toothpaste affects the height of its explosion. Additionally, the class went to the Arizona Science Center on Wednesday, primarily so that the CSI occupations group could look at the new poison exhibit that opened there. The 8th graders have been learning about the environment. They read through the WWF Living Planet Report 2024 and watched a podcast on it in order to understand the ongoing climate crisis. Seminar this week was filled with emotionally heavy books. The 7th graders are reading “To Kill a Mockingbird,” and the 8A and 8B groups are reading “Night” and “The Hate U Give.” All students have started their 3rd Quarter Humanities reports. As this update is written in advance, we don’t know whether everyone turned in their reports on the due date, this Friday, but we hope they did!

Sincerely, Deanna Fournier, 8th grade
