AZ Eagles - December Update

Greetings AZ Eagles Families!

November flew by for the Eagles (pun intended), and we’ve had quite the whirlwind of a month. After a successful grand opening of the AZ Eagles Marketplace at Keystone’s Fall Festival, the Eagles have continued to produce and market their products for their small businesses. They are looking forward to another in-school sale on December 13th and 14th. Rehearsals for their production with Childsplay, “Snow White”, are well underway, and it’s been so much fun watching our Eagles transform into the show’s cast. The performance will take place in the Keystone gym on Thursday, December 14th at 6:00 PM. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door for $25, and the AZ Eagles entrepreneurs will also have some of their products for sale during intermission. We hope to see you there!

Our outings this month included a trip to the Mesa Art Museum with Ms. Ana, which our Eagles very much enjoyed. They’ve just about completed another cycle of Occupations (Survival, Psychology, and Cooking), in which they have been studying first aid, analyzing the human mind, and even growing crystals from sugar! For seminar the seventh years read The Outsiders and The Giver, while the eighth and ninth years discussed 1984 and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime. In Humanities, the Eagles explored the ancient cultures of the Vikings, Rome, and Greece, where they explored their respective cultures and enjoyed some traditional cuisine. Every Wednesday morning, the Eagles spend time working in the community garden, where they plant, harvest, and maintain the plants growing there. We planted heavily in November and are looking forward to a robust winter/early spring harvest. The week of Thanksgiving the Eagles organized a feast, where we took some time to sit down to enjoy a meal together as a group and express all that we are thankful for. We are so grateful for our Eagles and for all that we do together, and are looking forward to a very, very busy December!
