An Overview from our Associate Head of School
Welcome to the Keystone website. Thank you for your interest in the Montessori pedagogy and our school community.
After teaching for 35 years in both Lower and Upper Elementary classrooms, I have spent the last 5 years as the Associate Head of School. I joined Keystone 23 years ago and have witnessed our community grow into the school we are today, offering an authentic Montessori program for children aged 15 months to 15 years.
To succeed in providing the foundation of a Montessori education, we must demonstrate diligence, knowledge, observation, and a commitment to the principles Dr. Maria Montessori established. At Keystone, these qualities are reflected in our dedicated staff and reinforced by parent education and open, constructive communication between home and school. Together, we support each child’s unique path toward independence, growth and self-discovery in a nurturing and respectful environment.
Spontaneous collaboration in all manifestations of life is a fact that has come as a true revelation. Association gives new strength by stimulating the energies. To act in association with others either in thought or in practice is the only way in which the human nature can be active. - Dr. Maria Montessori, From Childhood to Adolescence
