October Update

Dear Iguana Families,

Welcome to October!

We ended September with rainy weather and open doors! The children enjoyed having the fresh air come into the classroom and being able to spend some time outside, finally! We hope October brings us more beautiful weather.

Classroom Observations and Parent/Teacher Conferences

In October, we will be having our classroom observations and parent/teacher conferences. You will be receiving 2 different emails: one to sign up for an observation and another email to sign up for the conference. Please make sure your observation is before your conference, so we can discuss your observations and answer any questions you have.

Field Trip

We are happy to announce we will be having a field trip all together this year in November. We will be going to the Great Arizona Puppet Theatre and watching a performance called “Imagine This” that has been written by elementary-aged students. Every student will need to pay $10.00 each to be able to attend this performance. More information will be sent in an email after Fall Break. We are so excited for this!

Garden Donations

After Fall Break, it's time to start our garden in our backyard environment. This is one of our favorite times! The children will be preparing the soil, planting the seeds/plants, watering daily, observing, and then, when ready, they will be harvesting and eating. This is such a wonderful process for the children. They get to see how food is grown from start to finish. The children are more willing to try new things when they watch it grow. For this to happen, we are kindly asking for any donations. The most important thing we need is soil. We are also asking for seeds to plant. Some suggestions would be: lettuce, spinach, carrots, radish, strawberry plant, tomato plant, cilantro, or basil. Thank you so much for any donation!
