April Update

Dear Families,

This past month has been a busy, meaningful, and exciting time in our classroom, filled with both academic growth and memorable experiences.

Our third graders have been working very hard preparing for and completing their assessments. We are proud of their focus, responsibility, and perseverance throughout this process. They approached their work with confidence and showed great determination during testing.

Our first and second graders have continued to make steady progress in their daily work. Students have been actively engaged in lessons, research projects, and writing their own stories. It has been especially rewarding to see students take greater ownership of their learning, ask thoughtful questions, and share their ideas with increasing confidence. Several students also had the opportunity to present their work to the class, which helped strengthen both their communication skills and self-confidence.

In addition to our academic work, students continued to build independence and responsibility in the classroom community. They practiced making thoughtful choices, managing their work time, and supporting one another in a respectful and collaborative environment.

This month, we also had several special cultural and community experiences. We celebrated the Chinese Lantern Festival by tasting tangyuan, and the Persian New Year (Nowruz) by dyeing eggs with natural colors. These activities provided meaningful opportunities for students to explore traditions from different cultures and develop a deeper appreciation for diversity.

One of the highlights of the month was our overnight experience at school. The children participated in evening activities and spent the night together on campus. This experience helped them build independence, strengthen friendships, and prepare for our upcoming end-of-year trip. We were so proud of how they supported one another and embraced this new experience.

In addition, students have begun preparing for our upcoming play. They have started learning songs, practicing their parts, and working together to create props. There is a growing sense of excitement and collaboration as students bring their ideas to life, and we look forward to sharing this special performance with you soon.

We also celebrated Indali and Ivy’s birthdays this month—happy birthday to both!
