Dear Families,
As we begin the month of April, the children will be exploring different artists and composers. They will be introduced to a variety of styles, broadening their exposure to different forms of artistic and musical expression. Through listening, observation, and simple discussions, the children will begin to recognize differences in rhythm, mood, color, and technique, while also having opportunities to respond through their own creative work.
We are seeing a deepening of Montessori qualities in the classroom. The children are demonstrating stronger concentration, growing independence, and thoughtful engagement with both materials and peers. It has been especially nice to see how intentional their choices have become throughout the work cycle.
We have been using the outdoor environment as an extension of the classroom, where the same expectations remain in place, such as using calm voices and walking carefully. The children have adjusted naturally, carrying their sense of order and responsibility into this space.
