Hello Red-tailed Hawk Families,
It has been a super busy few weeks and we have another one ahead of us as we enter March. The students have been hard at work rehearsing and filming our classroom movie. We are a bit behind schedule in filming (as is common in epic masterpieces such as our movie) but hopefully we will wrap up on Monday. Thank you to everyone for getting costumes in, and being flexible with our hiking schedule.
Our world premier will take place at 6:00pm in the gym. Friends and family are welcome to attend. Actors are invited to wear their costume or special clothes for the premier. After the premier we will share a link to our movie on our private YouTube channel, so that you can share it with family and friends who were not able to attend Thursday evening. Friday will be a fun day for our students, as we will share the movie with the rest of the school.
March also brings our classroom overnight at the school! On Thursday, March 26th we will have our annual classroom sleepover at the school. Due to illness, the Iguanas’ and Owls’ overnight had to be postponed, so this year, all of the Lower Elementary will have our overnight together. We will accommodate this by having extra classes to choose from, and expanding some of the sleeping arrangements into the classrooms as needed. (We have had all classrooms do the overnight together in previous years, so we are prepared for the accommodations we need to make for a larger group.)
In order to attend the end-of-year camp, students must participate in a classroom overnight beforehand. However, children who attend the overnight do not have to attend the end-of year camp. Our overnight at school is a wonderful, safe, and fun way to have your child spend a night away from home. It is a vital component of the Montessori experience and an invaluable bonding experience for the students. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me. Please look for the permission slip and information that was sent home with your student today. Please return the signed permission slip REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOUR CHILD IS ATTENDING OR NOT. This allows us to account for all of the students and helps us to plan a successful evening.
Lastly, please have a great spring break! If your student will be missing any additional school either before, or after the break, please let me know beforehand. This helps me to plan lessons and activities. Thank you all so much for your support of the Red-tailed Hawks!
In peace and appreciation,
Mrs. Amie
