March Update

February was a vibrant and meaningful month in our classroom, filled with exploration, celebration, student leadership, and academic growth.

🌎 Community & Cultural Experiences

Students enjoyed attending a school play, which provided a wonderful shared experience for our classroom community. We also participated in an exciting class hike, where students demonstrated enthusiasm, responsibility, and appreciation for the outdoors.

In celebration of Arizona’s Birthday, students engaged in in-depth research projects about our state. One group presented their findings to the class, strengthening both their content knowledge and public speaking skills. Students also created artwork to honor Arizona’s history and identity.

As part of our Lunar New Year celebrations, the class participated in hands-on cultural activities. Students practiced writing the Chinese character “福” and created festive decorations. A highlight of the week was our dumpling-making activity, where students demonstrated cooperation, concentration, and cultural appreciation.

We also celebrated birthdays and milestones together. One especially heartwarming moment was when students sang “Happy Birthday” in five different languages — a beautiful reflection of the diversity within our classroom community.

February was rich with student-led sharing:

  • Indali performed a guitar piece for the class.

  • One student presented research about cherry blossoms.
  • Another proudly shared a story they had written.
