The Montessori Journey is an annual parent education event at Keystone. This powerful two-day experience invites parents, caregivers, and special guests to join guides and members of the Administration team in a shared journey of discovery. Participants gathered on Friday evening for a silent walk through classrooms at each level, observing the environments and visually appreciating the thoughtful preparation of each space. This reflective experience helped prepare participants for Saturday’s workshop by provoking ideas, questions, and observations.
On Saturday, January 31, participants returned to campus for Montessori presentations at each level. Witnessing how lessons evolve as students progress through the levels illustrates the powerful impact of a Montessori education. Beginning in the toddler community, lessons are presented with great respect for each child’s individual needs. Each material builds upon the foundation of those that come before, and children work at their own pace with the support of their guides.
The Montessori Journey highlights how deeply children’s early experiences with materials and lessons in the toddler and children’s house environments are connected to their continued learning in lower and upper elementary, culminating in the adolescent program. This journey supports each child’s discovery of the individual they are meant to become. Each year, we look forward to sharing this experience with parents and hope you will join us for the Montessori Journey in 2027.
