December Update

Dear Iguanas Parents,

Welcome to December! This is a fun and exciting month for the children. Lots of fun happenings in the classroom. We ended November with a wonderful feast. Thank you to everyone for preparing delicious food and other contributions. It was a lovely meal of abundance and we had fun spending time together being so thankful for all that we have, especially each other!

Our garden is blooming! We were able to harvest some lettuce this week and eat some for lunch. Everyone was happy to try food from our garden.

December Birthdays: Natalia, Layth, Emmori and Jackson

December Calendar:

December 19th: Half Day

Last week of Semester (12/15-12/19) This week we will be finishing up our un-finished work. We will also be having some holiday-fun days. One day we will be doing our annual holiday tortilla making in the classroom. The children will help and learn to prepare tortillas from scratch and make some quesadillas, salsa and guacamole. This is a fun activity the children love to do every year.  We will also be watching “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” as we have just finished up reading the book. The children will compare and contrast the book to the movie. On Friday, we will celebrate the Winter Solstice in the gym with the whole school.

Thank you for such a wonderful first semester of school. We appreciate all you do for us and all your support. We hope you enjoy a happy holiday season and a fantastic New Year!

Love,

Ms. Katty and Ms. Janelle
