Dear Parents,
December is an exciting and busy month for everyone. We are learning about the international holidays that take place during this season. The children love discovering how families around the world celebrate and exploring the many different traditions. If you have any holiday-related books, traditions, or souvenirs your family would like to share, please have your child bring them to the classroom. The children continue to enjoy singing holiday-themed songs, and they were also introduced to Spanish vocabulary related to the season.
Ms. Kelsey was married over the Thanksgiving weekend, and we are overjoyed to celebrate this beautiful milestone with her. We send heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Kelsey and her husband, Alex, as they begin this new chapter together. She is back in the classroom, and the children were truly delighted to welcome her with big smiles and excitement.
We also have some sad news to share. One of our classroom birds passed away over the Thanksgiving break. I would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Raisch (Ranger’s) family for hosting and caring for the birds during the break. When the situation happened, they provided the highest level of care and did everything they could for the little one. We are also very thankful to the DeVries (Evelyn’s) family, who kindly offered to provide another bird for our classroom. We deeply appreciate their generosity and thoughtfulness.
As you know, our classroom animals bring so much joy and teach the children responsibility, empathy, and care. We will gently support the children as they process this experience and will continue caring for our remaining bird with love and attention.
This week, we also celebrated Colt’s 4th birthday and Matilda’s 4th birthday. A warm thank you to both families for bringing special treats for the children to share. Happy birthday, Colt and Matilda!
Sincerely,
Ms. Yoo-Kyung
