November Update

A Joyful Month of Learning and Creativity

October was a month full of creativity, discovery, and joyful learning in our classroom! After a refreshing Fall Break, the children returned full of energy and curiosity. They quickly settled back into their routines and showed great enthusiasm for their work. One student even shared her travel experiences with the class, sparking curiosity and thoughtful questions from her peers.

Fall Festival Preparations

Throughout the month, the children worked on their Fall Festival art projects, and we are so grateful to all the parents who came to help or supported from behind the scenes. The results were wonderful—filled with imagination, teamwork, and color! The children have also started practicing their Fall Festival dance, and we are excited to see their performance on November 8.

Academic Highlights

In mathematics, we explored long multiplication, long division, divisibility, multiples, equivalent forms, congruence and similarity, angles and angle operations, and lines. The children also used the Wooden Hierarchical Material to deepen their understanding of place value and number structure.

In language, students focused on articles, prepositions, pronouns, and adverbs. They wrote stories and poems to express their ideas creatively. During Novel Study, some groups continued reading Because of Winn-Dixie, while others completed Freckle Juice and began Flat Stanley.

Science and Cultural Studies

In science, we explored the parts of plants (roots, stems, leaves, fruits), the three states of matter and their properties, and the relationship between the sun and the earth. The children also learned about human interdependence, the formation and types of wind, and began their study of rivers.

Art, Music, and Handwork

In art and music, some students began working with the Tone Bars and the Grand Staff, while others enjoyed sewingand crocheting—activities that nurture patience, focus, and creativity.

Gratitude

We also began our classroom observations and parent–teacher conferences this month. Thank you so much for taking the time to observe and meet with us. Your partnership and involvement mean a great deal to our classroom community.

It’s been a rich and fulfilling month, and we are so proud of the children’s progress and joy in learning. Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to celebrating the Fall Festival together soon!
