Parent and caregiver volunteers enrich the Montessori experience by exposing students to diverse perspectives, reinforcing real-world learning, and fostering a sense of community. Your involvement can also model collaboration, respect, and lifelong learning, all of which align with Montessori principles.
As a volunteer, you will always represent the Keystone Montessori community. Each year we welcome parents and caregivers to join our growing team of volunteers. At Keystone, we value the strong relationships between our families and staff, and volunteering with the classrooms is one way to strengthen that bond. To assist in classrooms, you must complete the annual Volunteer Training, offered at the start of each school year.
Each level holds different and exciting ways for our families to be involved, and as the children grow, your experiences with them will evolve as they mature. The time spent working with the classrooms over the years becomes a window into the changes the students experience as they move through the different Montessori environments. In the toddlers and primary classrooms, volunteers are welcome to help, especially with the Fall Festival’s Art Project and Raffle Basket, as well as potlucks for the classroom communities. For Elementary students, volunteer opportunities include helping with the Fall Festival project and raffle basket, assisting with workshops for the overnight stay, and supporting ‘Going Outs,’ field trips, and hikes. ‘Going Outs’ involve small groups of students working on independent projects.
Ask any of our volunteers—they love being involved! Make sure to look for the volunteer training early next school year, so you can experience the joy of working with the children. Thank you for your support in making Keystone a thriving community.
