Dear Parents of the Diamondbacks,
Happy New Year! It’s been an excellent beginning to 2019 for our class! Ms. Dacia and I have really enjoyed getting back into the swing of things and welcoming our eager group of Upper Elementary minds!
First things up on our agenda for the new year is a garden venture: two side-by-side projects to prepare for our spring growing season. The first is our raised bed garden - we will be looking to plant both flowers and fruits. Your help in providing seeds or started plants of seasonal varieties would be much appreciated. The second is the beginnings of a small cactus garden. The cactus plants would be of lots of help, but If you have any small pots we would gladly accept them as well. Thank you in advance for any support you might send our way!
Progress reports will be going out soon. Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns. Thank you to everyone who attended the observation/conference event for the fall.
Our group is coming together in awesome ways and I’m so happy to be a part of the class. Recent lessons include: lines of latitude and longitude, comparison of production and consumption, making maps, parts of the stem, cnidaria, the digestive system, civilizations timeline, three branches of U.S. government, concept of squares and cubes, square root, word problems, word problems with fractions, phonograms, creating a Prezi, cinquain, parts of a polygon, tessellations, Euclid, the Story of the Created Image, zentangle, and using a 5-count measure pattern.
Enjoy a lovely holiday weekend!
