December Update

Happy Holidays Red-tailed Hawk Families!

Let me begin with a huge Thank you for the very thoughtful "Nana, Mama, and Mai" gift! It was so kind of you all to help me celebrate becoming a first time Nana! It meant so much to both Meaghan and I that you thought of us. We are very thankful for the kind words and wishes! I am absolutely RELISHING being a Nana :-)

This week will be a busy one, so let's "dive right in!".

Wednesday is the last day to bring in student-made gifts for the gift exchange. Please remember to help your student put thought, care and energy into the gift they make. If you still need an idea of what to make, feel free to email me. I can direct your student to several fun, quick gift ideas that their classmates would love to receive. As a reminder, please don't write your child's name on the package. It is an ANONYMOUS swap. You can put their name on a sticky note which can be removed, or just email me with a description of how the gift is wrapped. That way Ms. Janelle and I can keep track of who has brought in a gift, and ensure that they don't receive their own gift back.

Pictures Please! Ms. Janelle and I are making a simple craft for the kids, and we need some pictures of the kiddos to complete it. Please have your student send me 2 PICTURES. We need 1 SELFIE (basically a headshot), and 1 whole-body picture. These pictures can be emailed to me, or uploaded to Google Classroom. Please send these to me ASAP, with Wednesday being the latest, so we have time to put things together.

Thursday Pick-up: We will have the swapped gifts and supplies for our Mystical, Magical, Super-Duper, Funday Friday ready for pick up after school on Thursday. If your student is onsite in the Eagles classroom, we will deliver those items ourselves, so you don't need to worry about picking anything up. We have a fun day planned for the students including a Winter Solstice Lesson/Presentation, the gift swap, crafts, treats and games.

Lastly, this Friday is a half day. If your child is onsite, please remember to pick them up by 11:45, and get an early start to your Winter Break. Have a wonderful, safe and healthy holiday break! Ms. Janelle and I can't thank you enough for all of the support, understanding and flexibility you've shown during the first half of the year. This certainly has been the most interesting year of my teaching career! Although this is not the school year we would have asked for, it has been productive, engaging, challenging and worthwhile. I hope that the new year brings with it the chance to be in class together (at least at some point), and that you all stay healthy and well.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and many blessings to you and your family!

In peace,

Mrs. Amie and Ms. Janelle
