Red-tailed Hawks- 1st November Update

Hello again Red-tailed Hawk Families,

Tomorrow is the big day! We hope to see all of you at the fall festival and auction. The children are very excited to show you our dance, as well as to see who will be the lucky winner of our awesome Outdoor Movie Basket. Our beautiful Mandala storage bench is a work of art and will be up for auction in the evening. All of the proceeds for the event go directly to Keystone. No cookie sales, no wrapping paper “pitches”, we want our donations to go directly to our school, rather than outside businesses. Best of all, we raise money for our students, in a fun community-building event. We hope you can all come out and will consider giving to Keystone in some way. Bidding on projects, purchasing raffle tickets, and the silent auction are all fun ways to contribute. Thank you so much for supporting our children!

On another note, the months of November and December are very busy in the Hawks. Please be sure to check the website updates and Friday “tidbits” so that you or your students doesn’t miss out on anything.

It’s hard to believe, but in less than two weeks we will be having our Classroom Thanksgiving feast. Please look for a note to come home next week with more information. This is a student-only, in-class lunch, for which we will plan, prepare and enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving meal. We will be asking for a $7.00 donation from each student. With that donation, we will be able to purchase our ingredients. The date of the lunch is Wednesday, November 14th, so your student will not need to bring in a lunch on that day.

Also coming up is our first “picnic at the park” on Friday, November 9th, we will walk to Pecos Park to enjoy a sack lunch and recess. Permission slips will be coming home Monday, November 5thand must be returned by Thursday, November 8th in order for your student to participate. Because we will be eating at the park, please do not send food that needs to be reheated. Also, please put all items in disposable containers and a paper bag, as we will not be bringing anything back from the park. Students will also need a water bottle and good walking shoes.

Have a wonderful weekend and we will see you at the festival!
