Hello Iguanas Families,
Hope everyone is doing well and getting excited about some fall weather! :)
The children received the lesson of roman numerals and some other numeration charts were presented. Everyone really enjoyed this lesson and some children started making their own numeration charts. Some of the kids have had lessons on polygons and some chose to make beautiful booklets out of their polygon designs. Money word problems have been a class favorite these past couple weeks. Some of the younger children have had lessons on masculine and feminine comparison and some older children are learning and are excited about division We continued the lesson on the rotation of the earth. This time we focused on the idea and meaning of A.M and P.M and the times of the day in comparison to the rotation of the earth.
A couple of students did a wonderful presentation today on Odyssey of the Mind. They showed us the cars they built and how they got so far in the competition. The made it all the way to World finals! We also celebrated some of our Septemeber birthdays this week. They baked us some oreo cookie fudge. It was delicious. Happy birthday Diya, Kaysan and Barrett. We will celebrate the rest of our Septemeber birthdays next week.
We have started our library trips. They will be held every Monday. Please remember we do not send home reminders if your child has signed up. It is our hope that they take responsibility to tell you if they need their car seat. If they forget their seat, they will not be able to go that day. Thank you so much to the library moms!!
Friday Folders: When your child brings home their Friday folders full of work, they need to bring them back on Monday! We will not be sending home any work with them unless they have brought back their folder. They need to be responsible for their folders.
Remember: We have our Community Meeting next Tuesday, Septemeber 17 at 6:00. Next Thursday is a half-day and no school on Friday.
Have a great weekend,
Ms. Katty and Ms. Janelle
