October 2021 Update

Dear Great Horned Owls Parents -

Our first two months are under our belt and the children have gotten into the rhythm of choosing their work as soon as they walk into the classroom. While many lessons have been given, it is the follow-up work by the child which cements a new skill or concept. Ask your child what follow-up work they did today. This will tell you more if your child is working on developing intrinsic motivation required to be self directed learners.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for eveyone who came by on October 14th to help wrap-up the raffle baskets. Ms. Ana deserves an applaud for directing and assisting our children in making our wonderful art project. When Ms. Ana was busy with other classrooms, Ms. Bahareh carried the torch in order for our project to be done on time. Merci beaucoup, Mesdames. Collaboratio maximi momenti!

In October we get to celebrate Ava's birthday on the 24th

Some key dates:

Saturday the 23rd is the Artwalk - All baskets and art projects will be on display for the community for viewing prior to the Fall Festival's Live Auction.  This is also when everyone will start dropping their pre-purchased raffle tickets in the boxes of the baskets they hope to win.  Event and Raffle tickets will be available for purchase during the Art Walk.

Remember to start labeling the back of your raffle tickets with your name and phone number to save you time before you drop them off during the Artwalk or anytime there after.

Wednesday the 27th is our Board Meeting from 6pm to 7pm

Friday the 29th is Early Release Day at 11:45 a.m. for Lower Elementary and there is Extended Care.

****Please consider volunteering either the day before the event to set-up, the day of for a 30 minute slot, or on Sunday to help take down the tables and tents. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
