Hello Owls parents,
The first two weeks in the class have been wonderful. We started off the year with our Great Lessons: the coming of the Earth, Timeline of Life, Timeline of Humans, Story of Communication in Signs, and Story of Numbers. Children have been recreating some of the charts and timelines associated with these lessons.
Some children have been busy working with math and language materials, including the peg board, stamp game, grammar boxes, types of nouns, and the synonym cards. It is so nice to see them working productively with their classmates!
PE, Spanish, Music, and Art started this week. The children really enjoyed their special classes and look forward to having them each week.
Please send in a Phoenix Public Library card at your earliest convenience, if you haven’t already. We will be taking initial trips to the library in the next few weeks to learn library etiquette and to become more familiar with the checkout process. Ms. Judith Benen will be our library parent this year, and will start taking children to the library periodically throughout the school year.
We are starting to read stories aloud at the end of the day. If your child wants to knit or crochet during that time, they may bring in yarn and a crochet hook/knitting needles. Ms. Bahareh will be giving lessons to those who want to learn.
We look forward to a very exciting year!
Ms. Tonya and Ms. Bahareh
