In the classroom, we have been talking a lot about staying healthy and maintaining personal cleanliness during the cold and flu season. There has been a lot of sneezing, coughing, and runny noses in our community, so we want to stress the importance of healthy habits when this occurs.
Some children have been showing how to cough and sneeze into their elbow. If they use their hands, we are asking them to wash their hands afterward, using soap and scrubbing for an extended time before rinsing.
We are also talking about how chewing on pencils or fingers can transmit germs on tables or materials.
Please, if your child has a fever, keep them home 24 hours AFTER the fever has broken. This gives them a chance to recover fully before entering the classroom again.
We hope to continue having a healthy classroom environment, with the whole class present during these last few weeks before Winter Break!
