The Annual Keystone Montessori Peace Program Presented by the Children’s House classes is scheduled for Wednesday, February 13th. The program will begin at 6:00 p.m. Please drop your child off in his/her classroom at 5:45p.m. and then proceed to the gym to find a seat. After the program is over, the children will be brought back to their classrooms. Please plan to pick them up there. We ask that the children wear their best outfit and dress shoes. Your child may also wear a cultural heritage costume, reflecting your family’s personal background. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher.
We have been discussing peace and learned about Martin Luther King, Jr. and his dream of diversity and equality for all people. The children have been listening to and reciting Martin Luther King, Jr.’s speech “I Have a Dream”. They demonstrate an understanding of the meaning of the words and the intention of the speech. We also have been learning several songs about peace, like “Teaching Peace” and “I Think You are Wonderful”.
Special thanks to Melissa Stefanek for being a wonderful librarian mom who has collected books related to the topic. The children enjoy reading the books and discussing them.
Valentine’s Day: The school, as a whole, has made the decision not to celebrate Valentine’s Day by exchanging commercialized Valentine’s Day cards or candy. Please do not bring commercialized Valentine’s Day cards or candy to share with your child’s classmates. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Progress reports will be distributed to every family. After you read your child’s progress report, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact Ms. Yoo-Kyung through the Gold Communication Form to set up the conference.
