Introduction
Dear Parents,

Thank you for your interest in Keystone Montessori. We are proud to say that Keystone has grown from only 13 students in 1995 to over 300 students today! Our students range from 18 months to 15 years old. This year we are looking forward to beginning construction on a new Upper Elementary and Adolescent facility. Keystone is recognized in the community as providing an outstanding Montessori education in a child friendly atmosphere.

If you are considering enrolling your child at Keystone, we recommend that he or she start school as early as possible. This way, they may take advantage of the pivotal sensitive periods of learning which occur between birth and 6 years of age. Keystone Montessori School admits students of any economic and social class, racial and ethnic heritage, religious belief and family structure.

It is in the best interest of the child to make sure that Montessori philosophy is a match for your family's educational goals. You, as parents, and we, as a school, will meet prior to enrollment to discuss the Montessori philosophy, Keystone and your child. Candidates for our Toddler and Primary Programs are accepted year round on an individual basis pending classroom availability. Interest in our Charter Elementary Program is high and historically enrollment is from the waitlist only. As a Charter Elementary Program, we may not give enrollment preference to our existing private Primary students.

Choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make as a parent. The key is to match your familys educational goals with the schools mission and philosophy. At Keystone, we value long term relationships. Once enrolled, we want you to be a part of the Keystone family through the graduation. Our Admissions process is designed to help you decide if the Montessori philosophy and Keystone are right for you.

All of our classrooms are multi-aged communities of children with two adult guides. Our goal is that both teachers in each classroom are American Montessori Internationale or American Montessori Society certified. Please see the staff biographies on our web site for more specific information regarding our teachers and staff.

The Toddler Program includes a maximum of 13 children from 18 months old to 3 years old. Our Primary Program hosts children ages 3 to 6 years old with a maximum of 26 children in each classroom. The Lower Elementary consists of children ages 6 - 9 years old and Upper Elementary students are 9 - 12 years old. Elementary classes average 28 students. The Adolescent porgram consists of students ages 12- 15 years old.

Keystone's Montessori curriculum is aligned to the Arizona State Standards. Also included in our integrated curriculum for all levels are the cultural aspects of Spanish, Music, Art, Outdoor Environment, Physical Education and many trips out into the community. The world is our classroom.

Keystone offers a fee based extended care program at each level. In addition, after school enrichment classes are available for an additional fee. This year these programs include: Michelle's School of Art and Drama, piano lessons.

Interested families are welcome to visit our school. Please call to make a reservation. Our entire enrollment process for Toddler, Primary and Elementary is outlined in the Admissions section of this website for your review. Important dates are listed in the Enrollment Calendar.

Once again, thank you for your interest in Keystone Montessori. We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Sincerely,

Michelle Arndt
